The following topics are monthly guideline documents provided by Martin Ferris at Sheffield PCT will not necessarily have been endorsed in their entirety by DHSSPS and should be used as a reference only.
NICE is a Special Health Authority tasked with providing guidance on current
best practice in health treatment and care, including public health, to the
NHS in England and Wales. The Department has a formal link with the
Institute under which all NICE guidance, published from 1 July 2006, is
reviewed locally for its applicability to Northern Ireland and, where found
to be applicable, is endorsed by the Department for implementation in the
HPSS. Further details are available in the circulars at the
URL: http://www.dhsspsni.gov.uk/index/phealth/sqs/sqsd-guidance/sqsd-guidance-nice-guidance.htm
- IPG332 Surgical Correction of Hallux Valgus using Minimal Access Techniques (issued in February) is directly applicable to podiatric surgery and wouldn't be acute care only as listed.
